One working day on the Olympic track

15 november 2012

November 14th was the last day of the International Training Week at “Sanki” Sliding Center. The overall length of the track is 1814 meters. Over 130 sportsmen from 26 countries took part in the competitions.

In that day volunteers of Sochi State University had the luck to work at the event in the Sliding Center “Sanki”. Our guys performed different functions. They helped athletes at the starting point of the track and met them in the finish zone. Also volunteers watched the state of the track. They communicated with each other and their coordinators with the help of radio station. Volunteers’ posts located near the track, and athletes driving in a sledge with a speed of 120 km/h, were close to them.

The International Training Week gathered a great amount of guests from abroad. So many volunteers managed to speak with them and practice English. Students came back home tired but happy, because they could see new Olympic venue one of the first and helped in the organization of the international sport event.
